travel in Alps in mid-May

I just found FF flights to Zurich in mid-May, thinking about a loop thru Alps to Munich & Salzburg with 2 young adult children (sons 21 & 23)for 7 days. Thinking combination of hiking and city stuff...any suggestions?

7 days is not a lot of time. You'd need to focus. I strongly recommend the Verkehrshaus (traffic museum) in Luzern as not only do they have a great exhibition but also a pretty cool animated ride. Your sons should love it. Then take the cogwheeltrain up Mt. Rigi. Amazing! From the Lake Lucerne area then go to Konstanz at the Lake of Constance. They have a kind of seaworld that only shows animals and plants living in the Rhine river and the Lake of Constance thru which the rhine goes. Then take a boat to Friedrichshafen (enjoy the cruise!) and if you want visit the Zeppelin museum. Parts of the passenger cabin of the Hindenburg are replicated in there. From there go to Munich with a short stop in the harbour of Lindau (or take a boat from Friedrichshafen to Lindau and train to Munich from there).

Hi,
Seven days is not a lot of time for all you want to see. I'd suggest concentrating on Switzerland and not much else, but that's just me. Possibly split your time between Luzern and a village in the Berner Oberland (we loved Wengen!). This would easily work by using a Swiss Pass for unlimited travel on trains, buses and lake steam ships (lake Luzern). We went to the Swiss transportation Museum and loved it. Well, I loved it, my wife was ok with it. Hope this helps.
