We are a family of four thinking of going from Paris to Versailles on our last vacation day, so we would have all our luggage with us. Does Versailles have a place to lock up luggage? Also, what would you suggest to get from Versailles to CDG and about how long is the trip?

Your hotel should be able to store your luggage for you while you go to Versailles. Is that convenient? It depends on where you are staying relative to RER lines that go both places. Where will you be staying?
We are renting a private apartment for the week so we don't have hotel services.
Don't you think you are making your last day in Paris very complicated? Maybe you should just enjoy Paris for a few extra hours . . . there are worse fates.
Versailles has free left luggage facilities. Take the RER C from Versailles-Rive Gauche to St-Michel Notre-Dame. Transfer to the RER B and take it to either CDG 1 or CDG 2 TGV. Under 90 minutes, including transfer time. Be aware that the RER B line divides northeast of Paris so be sure to get on a train at St-Michel Notre-Dame that is going to CDG.
