Travel from Spain/Morocco Tour to Portugal

We are signed up for the new Spain & Morocco tour and are interested in traveling on to Portugal. Best way to get there? Suggestions on what to do and see?

I imagine there are low-cost airlines available (Check Vueling), and you always have the train. Lisbon is a hidden gem as far as I'm concerned. Tons of things to do and see, unbelievable food, and compared to other European capitals, much less expensive. Spent 5 lovely days there a couple years ago and can't wait to get back someday soon. While there, a trip to Sintra is a must for me. Unique little city with some truly world-class sights.

Where will you be travelling from when you end your tour....and how long did you want to add on in Portugal?

From Sevilla in mid September and will likely add 5-7 days.

I'm doing the same tour in April and was looking into going to Portugal at the end. I decided against it after choosing to instead front load my trip with more time in Barcelona. Direct flights to Lisbon are on TAP Portugal and Spanair. The train goes but if I remember correctly it eats up quite a bit of a day. As for suggestions, I'd look at the RS Portugal itinerary.

Direct flights from Sevilla to Lisbon are quite expensive....the lowest I've been able to find for then is about 165 Euro pp. The best option is probably bus across the border to, say, Faro, then the train into Lisbon. With an extra 5-7 days, you may want to stop for a couple of days in the Algarve, a couple up in Porto, and 3 or so in Lisbon itself.

We flew TAP Air from Lisbon to Sevilla in early April of '09. The cost converted to a total of $205 for two people. I booked online ahead of time, but had to check back to get their lowest class of sale fare. It had went up and down over the few months before booking.
