What is the best way to get from Fussen to the Black Forest? I'd rather not go back to Munich if I can help it. I'd like some suggestions for travelling by train and car.

From Füssen take the 8:06 train to Kaufbeuren, where you change for Lindau (Lake Constance, near the Swiss border) and then make additional changes in Friedrichshafen Stadt and Radolfzell before reaching Villingen, at the eastern edge of the BF, at 12:54. No Munich. This last train to Villingen, a fabulous town, continues along the scenic BF Railway to Triberg, Hornberg, Hausach, and Gengenbach on its way to Offenburg (13:58) as it cuts through the highest elevations of the BF.
