I will be arriving at CDG at 8:30am and I am planning on buying a "Mobilis" ticket at the RER station at the airport, this ticket will allow me to ride the RER to the Gare de Lyon station and the same ticket will take me on the train to Avon/Fountainebluea. Am I correct in that the one ticket will work all the way? I have never bought a Mobilis ticket before and I just want to make sure I understand how it works.
Donald - A Mobilis will not work from the Airport RER. You will need to buy a one way point-to-point ticket. And it is more expensive than the Mobilis. (Roughly 18€ earlier this year.) Depending on what else you are planning to do with your stay, you may want to look into a Paris Visite or Navigo Decouverte pass, as those will cover transportation to/from the airport.
Thanks Dina, I appreciate the help.
Dina,
I can't thank you enough! I just ordered the Paris Visite Pass and that will not only get me to Fountainebleau but also the next day when I travel to Versailles without having to wait in in lines to buy multiple tickets. Do you know of good restaurants in Fountainebleau??
