We're driving a car from Belstein to Baden Baden and I need some ideas of the most picturesque way to get there...and a few towns to not miss on the way. Is there a "back" way that holds some charm?

I assume it's Beilstein? Do pass Maulbronn for one of the oldest and most scenic medieval convents. Then either drive via Bad Wildbad or via Bad Herrenalb down to Baden-Baden. Both ways are very scenic.

Are you planning on staying in Baden-Baden or will you just be driving through? I know RS recommends it, but for a short trip I would skip it, or at least not stop over for more than lunch and a quick look around the town. If you want to do a spa (bath or bad) in Germany, they're EVERYWHERE particularly in this region. Baden-Baden isn't one of the most interesting areas to stay in this region, IMO.
