I would appreciate suggestions regarding the best way to travel from Barcelona to Paris. We first considered trains, but it seems like it takes 10+ hours overnight. I think air travel is also an option, but we don't want to fly in small planes if we can avoid it. If you have a suggestion for such travel, I would appreciate info regarding airlines, websites to book the travel, etc. Thanks for all your help.

I am traveling with my family from Paris to Barcelona at the end of Dec. I booked an EasyJet flight from CDG (although they also fly from ORY) to BCN. Vueling is also an option as Steve mentioned. Be careful when booking on RyanAir. Their fares are insanely cheap but the do not fly out of the big airports - meaning you would have to factor in transportation outside of Paris and outside of Barcelona (sometimes an hour outside). The cost and time for RyanAir doesn't quite seem worth it when all is factored in.
