I am a58 year old woman travelling solo to Morocco. My train from Cordoba reaches Algeciras at 2 Pm. Are there enough ferries for me to reach Tangier before dark? I was told earlier that there is a free bus to Tarifa for the faster ferry from there to Tangier. Does anyone have any experience in this travel ? Help.

I would suggest you call the ferry company directly at 011-34-956-681-830 or email at [email protected] to check your specific date and time. The company runs ferries every two hours until 9 pm, so there should be no reason they won't transfer you in time for the 3 pm...or certainly the 5 pm....ferry. They leave from Algeciras port about an hour before the scheduled Tarifa ferry departure, so you may also want to check to see if they will pick you up at the train station. The other alternative is to take the regional bus from Algeciras to Tarifa. It leaves from the bus station, right across from the train station, and takes around 45 minutes.
