Travel between Spanish cities for cheap.

My wife and I leave for Spain on the 20th of this month...we are travelling open jaw with our start in sevilla and ending in barcelona..we will also be visiting granada, madrid and toledo on this visit..is it cheaper to purchase city to city or a eurail pass? Does eurail offer something like the supersaver ticket for travel ( 2 can travel on one ticket)? Please, any help is greatly appreciated as I sit here and try to figure this one out!!!

What is your age? If over 60 you can buy a 5E discount card that will get 40% weekdays, 25% weekends discount on rail. I doubt if a rail pass will save you money. Also there is savings for advance purchase of rail tickets. Do not use RailEurope as a guide to pricing.

Also, buses are very cheap and almost fast as some of the non-high speed trains. Buses in Spain are terrific.

My wife and I are both in our 30's...I'm not against bus travel,I actually prefer it at times. I guess that I'm just not finding the other trains running through each city..I keep running into AVE prices and they are EXPENSIVE!!! Here is our itinerary..ideally,I would like to mix it up with train/bus,so please, chime in any time:

-Arrive in Seville,3 nights
-Seville to Granada ( Bus?),one night
-Granada to Madrid ( Train?) 3 nights
-Madrid to Toledo ( Bus or train?),one night
-Toledo to Barcelona ( train) four nights
-trips to cadeques/figures (bus/train),day trip

So,as you can see there are some longer rides and some shorter ones..I'm just confused on whether a spain pass ( supersaver) will help with the costs or if there are cheaper, less expensive trains going between these cities..time is not an issue...we don't need a 2.5 hour trip between Madrid and Barcelona...but 8 hours on a bus is not desireable either!!

Joe, you've left it kinda late to get discount tickets, but it can still be done. I'm seeing some discount fares still available for Madrid-Barcelona for March 28, 29, and 30....about 68 Euro per person. Go to RENFE. It's mostly in Spanish, but we can help you get through it if necessary. You print these tickets ahead of time at home. You'll have to book this leg separately to get the best prices and schedules. Book them ASAP!!
I would also suggest you pre-purchase your Madrid-Toledo-Madrid tickets here too, to A) get the train you want, B) avoid what can be long lineups at Atocha station's ticket offices, and C) to make sure you arrive in Madrid in time to take your train to Barcelona.
As for Sevilla-Granada, you can purchase train tickets here, too....but there are only four trains/day, and there's no discount. Same with Granada-Madrid....except there are only two trains/day.
Buses are more frequent on both those routes and, in the case of Granada-Madrid, much cheaper, while the transit time is about the same. Yo can check out fares and schedules for buses here.
