I am planning a long weekend. I intend to start in Santiago de Compostela, Spain and finish in Porto, Portugal. How do I travel between these two locales without renting a car? Is there a train or bus service? If I do rent a car, what is the drive like? Thanks!

Not sure about the bus but we rented a car and it was an easy drive like an "interstate" in the U.S. It took about 3 hours.

I spent last May in Portugal. It's a really scary place to drive! There is a train from Santiago de Compostela to Porto that takes about 5 1/2 hours arriving about 10:30 PM. There are also overnight trains that take twice as long.
