travel between Paris and Siena

We are driving between Paris and Siena. We are looking for a place to stay in route. Love staying in small places, Rick Steve's style. Little towns, or convenient places that are worth spending the night. Thanks.

Chamonix is nice, very close to the Mont Blanc tunnel. It is beautiful!
I am also looking for a place there for three nights this summer. We stayed two years ago at La Chaumiere but now they have only weekly rates.
