We will be staying in Chantilly for 5 nights and I was hoping to get to Paris each day. I just read a post on Trip Advisor from someone who said that taxi fare is close to 77 Euros and train fare is over 100 Euros. Is this true? Isn't there some other train line (RER) that will go between the two? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. (We do not plan on renting a car)
Load of baloney,, the train between Chantilly and Paris is less then 15 euros,, I wish I could remember exactly what it was,, I actually think I paid less then 12 euros.. last year. I would never take a taxi, it would be about 75-85 euros depending on time of day and traffic. Perhaps you misread,, perhaps the poster on the other forum meant 10 euros, that would make alot more sense.
The fare for a single ticket between Chantilly and Paris is €7.60 each way. You will take a regional train from Chantilly-Gouvieux to Gare du Nord. Chantilly is in zone 6. A five-day, zone 1-6 Paris Visite pass costs €51.20. A seven-day, zone 1-6 Navigo semaine pass costs €37.60 plus €5.00 for the re-chargeable card. You must provide a small photo to attach to the card. The pass is good Monday-Sunday, not any seven-day period. Either pass would cover all your metro, RER, and bus rides in Paris as well as your trips to and from Chantilly.
Thanks for the info. i thought the prices sounded a little off based on all I have read. I will check into the passes when we arive!
