My family and I will be traveling to Germany, France, and Italy. All of my younger children are covered by our health care insurance and my oldest has his own. I have one son, however, who has taken a "break" from college and is not eligible for health insurance coverage at his work (and at 21 cannot be covered by mine). Does anyone know of any type of coverage I could purchase for the time we're in Europe? (and cost)
Jon: Are you just assuming that your US health insurance covers you in Europe? Many do not and that could be an expensive surprise.
I purchased trip insurance which covered health. It wasn't very expensive, and can be a good alternative.
you must all purchase out of country medical insurance. try travel agecies, or banks fopr proper forms.
Barry, they might already be covered, but they might want to check to make sure they have adequate med evac insurance, too.
Check www.insuremytrip.com. They cover all kinds of travel-related insurance and you can compare policies to find exactly what you need.
Thank you all. I also stumbled across Rick's write-up and have contacted a few insurers. Pretty reasonable cost (Access America, Travelex, Travel Guard and Travel Insured International).
