Trasnsportation between Aix en Provence and Monte Carlo

We need to travel from Aix to Monte Carlo to catch a Regency Cruise ship. Any suggestions on how to leave Aix in the morning and reach Monte Carlo by afternoon. Note: The Grand Prix is going on as well as the Cannes Film festival. We need to keep it economical! Thanks

This website will give you train schedules http://bahn.hafas.de/bin/query.exe/en, you have to enter the city names, date isn't important except that it be during the week or on the weekend (whichever is applicable), enter 0500 for time, you'll see the schedules. But major caveat here: I don't know how the schedules would be affected by both the Grand Prix and Cannes Film Festival going on at the same time as your trip. The website I've provided is the most user-friendly for schedules but can't be used to book tickets online for your trip.Let's see what others advise re whether you need to go to the French train website to book online in advance, others here more familiar with using the French train website can advise you how to do that, it's a bit tricky.

What date are you actually departing Monte Carlo? I can't find any ship departing Monte Carlo during the Grand Prix (May 21-24).

The only cruise ship departure I could find from Monte Carlo during the film festival was on May 16 on the Regent Seven Seas.

If this is the date, May 16, it's a Saturday, there are numerous trains that go from Aix-en-Provence to Monaco. The trip is about 4 1/2 hours and you would have to change trains twice.
