Transportation question, Munich, Dublin, Rome/Naples

Hello, I was curious if someone knows the best way to travel between these cities, i only have 12 days (already took out 2 for there/back) I was thinking, landing in Munich (3 nights), flying to Rome/Naples (6 nights) flying to Dublin (3 nights) and back to Munich, the only route that is giving me trouble is Munich to Rome, the rest are easy with low cost airlines (easyjet, ryanair). Does anyone know of another airline or would a overnight train be possible if affordable?

Bryan, give airberlin.com a try, I am quite sure they fly that route. Have fun, Jim

There is a direct CNL Muenchen-Roma night train. Booking is open at www.bahn.de through 12 December. Booked far enough in advance, you can get a Savings fare of €29 for a reclining seat, €49 for a bunk in a six-person couchette, and €59 for a bunk in a four-person couchette. Paying a little more for the extra space and comfort of a four-person couchette is well worth it. Go to the DB site and click on the drop-down menu in the upper right-hand corner for English. After you get summary timetables for Muenchen-Roma, look for the Savings fare column on the right-hand side of the page and click on "Check availability" for the direct train that departs at 21:03 and arrives at 09:05.

Air Berlin does get to Rome from Munich....but only after going somewhere else first....Vienna, Munster, Hamburg. Flying time o/all is, at best, 4 1/2 hours...the overnight train would probably be the best, and will save you a hotel night's cost as well. As far as I'm aware, no other discount airlines do that run.

Im leaning toward the overnight train, but i saw the ticket seems to be until december, do you think this 59 euro couchette will still be available if my trip isnt untill april?
