Transportation/Museum pass for Paris

Which kind of pass should we purchase in Paris or should we buy it before we go there? Can it be purchased from the airport?

I don't know about transport passes, but for the Museum Pass, you can buy this at many train stations and most museums or monuments. No reason to purchase before you arrive.

metro is easy and you can train in paris from airport, then buy a bunch tkts and use whenever you need. they sell them in packs so buy 10 can last you a few days. the museum pass has been discussed so much - basically depending on how long you stay in paris you pick the right one. they're sold in many places but i found small museums have short lines just easy to get. I once stayed in a studio in Marai and it's next door to a small sciense museum, which sells the pass with no line at all in the mid of high season.

There is no advantage to buying passes from home--and they cost more.

You can buy Paris Museum Passes at CDG.

A single ticket from CDG to anywhere in central Paris on the RER and metro costs 8.70 EUR.

For a page listing all your transportation ticket and pass choices, with links to detailed explanations for each one, go here.

We purchased the museum pass online and received them in about 5 days. I like to have what I need and not waste time looking around for them before I go so it was nice to have them once we got there. If you plan to see at least 4 attractions covered by the pass in 2-3 days it is definitely worth it. I think we saved 30 EUR per person getting them. I don't recall the website but google it or maybe Rick has it in his Paris book?

Sorry that my above message is a bit hard to read, but no matter what I do, I can't get a new line/new paragraph in my messages - guess it's because RS is still resolving their browser compatability issues.
