Transportation from Dijon to Beaune via Rue De Beaune

In order to save about $200 in renting a car in Dijon (and the issues with returning it on a Sunday), is there any other way I can take transportation on Saturday May 23 to my bed and breakast, which is between Dijon and Beaune but off to the west a bit on Rue De Beaune? And then again from the bed and breakfast to Beaune? (All other travel is taken care of..train from Beaune to Dijon, then Dijon to Paris already booked!)

The towns near the b&b seem to be Messanges, Segrois, Villars-Fontaine... My b&b contact simply says renting a car is the best way to go, but I hate spending $200 to go 30 miles!

Wes, the local from Dijon to Beaune stops at Nuits St. George. You could take a taxi from there. Looks to be 4 or 5 miles.

Or you could perhaps find a less expensive car rental. This would let you use the car to explore the area. Or do you just want to stay near your hotel?

The best answer might depend on what you plan to do while there.

Thank you for that information. Of course I'd prefer to have the flexibility of a car, but all the car companies are offering really high rates...I've tried Hertz and Europcar, do you have any other ideas? When you say the "local", does that mean bus?

Thanks so much!

Wes, why don't you change your B&B to one which can be reached by train?

Wes, sorry, the local is a train on the Dijon-Beaune line (some run express on that route). As for alternatives, you should at least price a consolidator such as Auto Europe (there are others too). Good luck!

I have used Autoeurope. They have a phone number in the U.S. if you want to call to ask questions.
