Transportation from Chinon to Saumur, France

I will be staying in Chinon for two weeks and want to rent a car in Saumur which is closer than Tours. (Chinon doesn't have car rentals) I can't seem to find any transportation to get there. Any suggestion?

It appears that you cannot go directly from Chinon to Saumur. I googled "bus Chinon Saumur" and found nothing. I checked the timetables at www.bahn.de and the only route I found was a bus from Chinon to Tours and a train from Tours to Saumur with a total travel time of over two hours.

Obviously, that's not a good choice. I think you'll have to pick up your car in Tours.
