Do you know the company Shuttle-Inter as alternative to getting a taxi from outside the arrivals terminal at CDG? They advertize a flat rate and also take credit cards? Reliability?
Experiences with? Thanks!!
I've read very positive reviews of Shuttle-Inter on the Fodors Europe board. If you're packing light, don't rule out the RER. For detailed instructions, including photos, on how to get from CDG to central Paris on the RER B, see the Paris by Train site. Mona, I've used other shuttle services but not this one -
yet. Could you let me know what you find out if you get any private messages? A hint, I always use the shared van service (it's cheaper) but also always lie and tell them to pick me up 1 hour earlier than I actually need it. ALL the services I've used either get lost finding the apartment/hotel, assume that since my last name can also be a man's name that I can't be the correct passenger since I'm a woman, etc. That extra hour allows time for these screw-ups - and there's ALWAYS a screw-up.
thanks to both of you for your replies. I will just decide last minute whither train or taxi from CDG into Paris depending on how I and my granddaughter sleep on the flight over. much appreciated, your info. mona
Be warned....the taxi ride will be somewhere around 55 euros to the St. Germain area....and if the driver is the one I had he left me at the right number....but on the wrong street! I did not know better until he left as this was my first visit there.

thx! I am familiar with the street as having walked it on a prior trip; and we arrive on a Saturday midmorning, so I expect traffic to be a bit lighter. We shall see!!!
mona, I have used Shuttle-Inter twice. Once when their was a threatned train strike ( the RER would continue to run from airport but at a much reduced schedule) and once when travelling solo with just my 11 yr old and didn't know how she would be after a 16 hour travel day! Both times they were fine, were at airport waiting etc. I liked the fact I did not have to pay up front or give my CC number, to me it meant if they didn't show up I could easily just hop in a taxi( and taxis are a good option, but only the ones from the proper taxi stand at the airport, do not go with the privates that approach you , they quote a rate thats too high, or they have "funny meters". Just take Taxi Parisien from the stands.
I also liked its a private car, not a shuttle bus where you are picking up and dropping off a lot of other people. I recall paying in cash,, which is what I normally do ,, I reserve my CC for hotels, train tickets and fancy dinners and keep petty cash outlays in cash.
