Transfers in Paris

I am booking a trip from Amsterdam to the south of France. The train arrives at the Gare du Nord and leaves from Gare de Lyon. It simply states "transfer" between the 2 stations. Does that mean you are on your own?

Yes, you will have to take the RER D line to Gare de Lyon (or a taxi).
