I am planning on buying a ticke on the AVE between Madrid and Sevilla but I do not understand the tariff structure. I see there is a general price, a Web price and an Estrella price. What is the Estrella price? I tried contacting the Spanish embassy in DC and tourist office in NY and couldn't reach a live person.

There's a three-tier fare structure...regular price, "estrella" at 40% off, and "web" at 60% off. The cheaper the tickets, the stricter the rules if you want refunds or changes....no changes are allowed for the "web" fares.
