I'll be travelling to Barcelona-Madrid-Toledo-Cordoba-Grenada-Seville-Ronda-Gibraltar. All of my in-Spain travel will be by train. Any suggestions/comments about Rail passes vs pay-as-you-go would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Just need to price it out. Some of those location are faster and better served by bus. And it depends on the order.
Agree with the comment of Frank....
Thanks for the replies. I'm thinking that for the long legs of my trip ( Barc-Madrid, Madrid-Cordoba, Ronda-Madrid) would be on the AVE, I might save by buying a SpainRail Pass. Your thoughts? B.
Just an FYI A pass is of no value for Madrid/Toledo (cost is same). A bus is MUCH cheaper and more frequent and just as fast between Grenada/Sevilla. Ronda and Gilbraltar are probably more easy to access via bus. So the rail pass is really only helpful Barcelona-Madrid-Sevilla/Cordoba and with advance purchase discounts, point-to-point is almost always a better value.
