I'm trying to figure out train travel for our trip and have not been having much success. I need to get us by train from Munich to Linz (for a bike trip that ends in Vienna). Then, we hope to travel from Vienna to Salzburg to Munich. Help?

You can find these schedule using the German Rail website. With advance purchase online from the Bahn, you can get discount ticket starting at €19/p for Munich to Linz or €29/p for Vienna to Munich.

There is a direct run from Budapest Keleti to Munich Hauptbahnhof that passes through Vienna and Salzburg. It is on OBB, the Austrian state railway. Deutsche Bahn may also have a similar route.
