To the best of my knowledge only bus service -- frequent and cheap -- BUT it has been ten years.

There are two places with the name Eze. Eze-Bord-de-Mer is right on the coast and is served by both train and bus. Eze-le-Village is straight up the hillside from the other Eze and is only served by bus.

I just returned from a trip last week. In nice there are two train stations (well there are more but these are the only two you need to know): 1. Nice Ville. 2. Nice Riquier. We boarded the train to Monaco from Nice Riquier, Our hotel is walking distance from Riquier. You can also easily get to Nice Riquier with the only Tram, get off at palace de exposition or acropolis. both are walking distance to Riquier. On our train schedule, it does say the train also stops at Nice Ville, but I board on and off at Riquier. you can buy the round trip train tickets, and it would cover you from nice to monaco to eze to any town along the way. We spent a lovely morning at monaco, and a lovely afternoon at Eze on the same day while we were at Nice. More info: At monaco train station, gotta exit the place by heading to the 0 floor, and the bus 1 and 2 takes you to all the sites you want. At Eze, exit the station towards the mountain, not the sea. Take the bus I believe is 83 right outside the station to Eze Village. Right next to the bus stop, you can find the office of tourism, posting informations about the bus on their window in English. You can also take bus 100 from Nice to Eze or Monaco. I worried as much as you did before my trip. then found everything to be perfectly simple and easy and not confusing at all when I got there. So don't worry, you will be fine.

Don't take the train. Just take bus #81 from the main Nice bus station by the Vieux Nice area by the beach. The scenery is amazing and you are in Eze Village in minutes. The staff at the bus station are very helpful too !

the train ride was also beautiful along the sea. either way it gets you to your destination. We chose the train because we are both young and we get bored of the same place if we stay for too long, and we love to see as much as possible. the train takes you to monaco and eze in under 15 minutes, the bus takes 35-40. valuable time wasted in my opinion on top of that the bus is more expensive. with the train we were able to see the sights of Monaco, villefranche sur mer, saint jean cap ferrat, and eze all in one day.

Actually, the bus is cheaper than the train. A single bus ride costs €1. An all-day pass for the Lignes d'Azur network costs €4.
