Initial Route to Murren from Paris via Basel. Is there another route to travel back to Paris that would give another "view" of things?
We have a Swiss Rail Pass and will need to purchase tickets for travel within France. THANKS
You can also catch TGV trains to Paris from Bern, Lausanne, or Geneva. They take a slightly different route, but the scenery isn't spectacular. Train are more frequent via Basel.
Also from Zurich. Since you have a Swiss Pass, you could travel any number of routes to one of the TGV departure points. For example, you could take the Golden Pass route from Interlaken Ost to Luzern, mand then head to either Zurich or Basel to catch the TGV. If you buy your TGv ticket on SBB it will take your Swixx Pass intomaccount in figuring the fare. Or youncould take the Golden Pass route west to Montreux, and pick upmthe TGVmin Lausanne or Geneva.
The usual route from Basel to Paris is via Mulhouse to Paris Gare de Lyon, routed via and sometimes stopping in Dijon. The other route involves changing in either Colmar (for a TGV which originates in Colmar) Strasbourg to the TGV which originates in Colmar or one which comes over the border from Germany, Munich or Stuttgart. These then shoot due West to arrive at Paris Gare de l'Est.
