Train Travel: Frankfurt to Prague

I'm meeting a friend in Frankfurt and from there we'd like to go straight to Prague for two nights before heading down to Munich for Oktoberfest. I've never traveled by train before in Europe and we'll only be traveling for 5 days total, so the EuroRail passes seemed unnecessary. But I tried to find rail tickets on the Die Bahn from Frankfurt to Germany -- they are 180 euros roundtrip. Does this sound reasonable? Thank you for any guidance!!

Two words: night train! Some people may think it's not long enough for a night train. But when you compare the cost of a train ticket and hotel separately against the cost of a night train then it's usually a no-brainer. I try to double up on hotel and transportation this way at least once on a trip. It's a great money saver.

I'll echo Jarrod: night train!

SparNight fares on the direct Frankfurt-Praha night train start at €29. Book at http://buchung.nachtzugreise.de and print your own ticket.

If you do the same for Praha-Muenchen, you will save the cost of two nights in a hotel.
