What is the best way to get from Paris to Munich in July? Is the train the best way and should we do an overnight?

If you book well enough in advance online from the German Rail website, (up to 92 days) you can get a Europa-Spezial fare of €39. This is for a 6 hrs trip by TGV/ICE. There are also advance purchase, reduced fare tickets for night trains, but I don't think you can beat the above shown fares.
