Would it be easier and cheaper to travel between Germany and Switzerland with a regional saverpass or with 2nd class seperate country passes?
And with the 2nd class seperate country passes would we lose any days if we were to travel between the countries in one day?
Hi raghu,
If you have a two-country pass covering both Germany and Switzerland, then if you travel between the two countries it will only count as one day on a pass. Alternatively, if you have two separate passes then you will use up a day on each pass - one day required on the Germany pass, and then another day required on the Swiss pass, which can end up costing more. That being said, the Swiss Pass has some nice benefits that you would not get with a two-country pass. Finally, it may be cheaper to travel with point-to-point tickets instead of a pass.
The best thing to do is to price out the point-to-point trips and compare it to the pass options. You will need to search on the website for the country where your train originates.
