I am looking to purchase two train tickets from Interlaken, Switzerland to Fussen, Germany. I think I have figured it out. I will use my Swiss Pass to go from Interlaken to Zurich (at no cost) then switch to the German site and purchase for 78 euros the Europa-Spezial Schweiz from Zurich to Fussen. There is one transfer in Buchloe from platform 3 to 4 in 6 minutes, is this doable? I was unable to find any pictures or maps of this station. Thank-you.
For a small train station, 6 minutes is usually more than enough time.
This webpage, www.stationsdatenbank.bayern-takt.de/StationsdatenbankBEG/Steckbrief.html?lang=de&efz=8000057, has the layout of the Buchloe Bahnhof. Tracks 3 and 4 are next to each other but they have different platforms. If you are ready, 6 min is plenty of time. Know the name of the previous station (Memmingen) and about what time you should arrive in Buchloe (12:41?). Just before you get to Buchloe, get up, gather your luggage, and move to the end of the car. When the train stops, get off. Head for the stairs to the tunnel. Once inside the tunnel there will be a large sign on the tunnel wall for the stairs to platform 4 (they'll be the next set of stairs). Go up the stairs and get on the train. The other train should be sitting by the platform waiting when you get there. And don't worry, if for some reason you miss the train to Füssen, there will be another one in about an hour. Your Savings Fare ticket is specific for the EC from Zürich to Buchloe, but you can actually take any regional train from Buchloe to Füssen, as long as it arrives in Füssen before 10 AM the following day.
Lee, thankyou so much for the information. I will carry your instructions with me.
