Train tickets from Frankfurt to Wurtzburg and back to Frankfurt

Is it best to purchase train tickets on-line before we take our trip to Germany or wait until we get to Germany and purchase at station? My husband and I are planning to take the train from the Frankfort airport to Wurztburg and back the following day to downtown Frankfurt. Thanks

If you are doing Laender tickets, then you just buy them at the airport or at the train station. There is no advantage to buying them online.

...however, if you are planning on using specials on high speed trains, InterCities etc. you'd need to buy them online ASAP as they're quite limited.
