I'm purchasing a train ticket from DB Bahn's website and the ticket can't be printed from home (that option isn't available). If I opt to have it mailed to me, which is actually the only option, it may not arrive in time before I leave home for the trip. I had considered having it mailed to a hostel, but I was worried it could be mishandled. What should I do?
Why can't you print the ticket? A PDF usually appears that allows you to print the ticket immediately after you purchase it. They also email you the same the PDF. You can also pick up the ticket at the station. Last option, just buy the ticket in Germany.
May I ask why you can't print at home?
George, I bought a ticket from Berlin to Warsaw from bahn.de and was able to print out the emailed ticket (arrived within seconds).
Unless you are purchasing discount (Sparpreis) tickets, there is no reason (no price discount) for advance purchase. Just buy the tickets at the station.
Yes, just as George stated -- that option isn't always available
It looks like you might have to buy your ticket at the train station. When do you leave on your trip?
