I'm a little stumped. We plan to take the TGV train from Paris to Brive in June. I realize it's too early to buy the tickets online but I took at look at schedules using earlier dates. I know that Brive is on a TGV line but the results are always on an Intercite train. What is the difference and why can't you find a TGV to Brive? Thanks to all those with better SNCF skills than moi.
The only direct trains are Intercites trains. They are faster than regional trains but slower than TGVs. The standard 2nd class fare is €69.00. However, if you book ASAP (up to three months allowed) on tgv-europe.com, you can get a Prem's fare as low as €15.00. Those tickets are for a specific departure date and time and are non-exchangeable and non-returnable. Be sure you can commit before booking.
