We will arrive into Vienna with two small children and I have been offered a taxi transfer by the accommodation for 40 euro to go from airport to Stephansplatz. This seems a little pricey to me given our current exchange rate so I was hoping someone could advise the other options - or convince me the transfer is worth the expense?? I have read about a CAT-CAB option but although I understand the train is direct from the airport to a station in the city I can't seem to locate information on how the taxi part of that journey takes place, is it an additional cost or included in cost of ticket to catch the train? Also, is 40 euro about the same cost of catching a taxi from airport or is this more expensive?
thank you
You can take the s-bahn from the airport to Wien-Mitte/Landstrasse Station. From there take the U-bahn line 3 to Stephansplatz. Much cheaper than a taxi or the CAT.
