We will be flying into Brussels from JFK. How far is the train station from the airport? How long does it take to get downtown?

from the Brussels Airport website (www.brusselsairport.be): "The airport train station is located below the terminal (basement level-1). Up to 4 trains an hour connect the airport to Brussels North, Brussels Central and Brussels Midi stations." So the station is AT the airport. Looking at the Belgian Rail website http://www.b-rail.be/main/E/ it appears to take between 22 and 26 minutes to Bruxelles-Midi depending on the route (a few min less to Central or Nord as the train stops there and other places first)

It is very easy to find the station - just follow the signs in the terminal. We took the train to Grand Place during a layover. Worked great.

The Grosse Markt (or Grande Place as we more commonly know it- I've spent the past week immersed in Flemish) is less than 5 minutes on foot from the Centraal station.
