I believe I either read somewhere or heard that the major airports in Europe have a train station in the airport or close. I plan to take a train from CDG to Bayeux. Later a train from Austria to MUC if possible.
Appreciate any help. Danke!
As for the second route (AT to MUC) the trains come into Munich Hauptbahnhof. There are S-Bahn connections from the Hbf to MUC, about 40 minute, 6 per hour. If you come into Munich from Salzburg on a Bayern-Ticket, the S-Bahn is included, or you can probably specify MUC as your destination on the rail ticket. If not, one way to the airport is less than €9 per person.
CDG has two railway stations...one near terminals 1 and 3, the other at terminal 2. But I believe you'll have to come in to Paris at Gare du Nord, then transfer to St. Lazare station for the trip to Bayeux. Fare from CDG to Paris is about 8 1/2 Euro. Tickets (2nd class) for Paris-Bayeux range from 15-32 Euro one way. The advance sale PREM's tickets for your second leg (no refund, no changes) can be printed on your home computer. Hi Tony,
Will the above site help?... bon voyage! P.
Adding to Norm's post. If you arrive at Terminal 2, take the RER B from CDG 2 TGV to Gare du Nord. If you arrive at Terminal 1, take the CDGVAL driverless shuttle train to CDG 1 and then the RER B to Gare du Nord. Walk through the connecting tunnels to the Magenta RER station and take the RER E to Haussmann Saint-Lazare. Walk to Gare Saint-Lazare. Keep your ticket to make the transfer and to exit at your final stop. The fare is 8.20€.
