Train from Sarlat to Paris

My husband and I will be traveling from the Dordogne to Paris next September. As it could prove pretty difficult for us to change trains I am trying to discover the closest rail station to Sarlat which would not involve changing trains. I thought it might be Limoges or Brive, but I have been unable to find this information. I have followed Rick's suggestion using the German website ad have also searched the SNCF website, to no avail. Would I be better driving part way or perhaps all the way to Paris? Or might it be easier/quicker/cheaper to just bite the bullet and change trains? We will have a car in the Dordogne but I don't relish the thought of a long drive to Paris.

Do you have physical limitations or plan to have a lot of luggage that would make it difficult for you to change trains quickly?

According to www.bahn.de, there are six direct trains/day between Brive-la-Gaillarde and Paris Austerlitz. New timetables will go into effect throughout much of Europe on 14 December. To see the current timetables, enter a date between now and 13 December.

Thanks, Tim
I do have some physical limitations (i.e. I can I can lug and haul suitcases but I pay for it) . Also I need to take an ergonomically correct seat wedge for the car and a temper-pedic neck support pillow, and various other annoying paraphernalia. All of which means that I need a minimum of one checked suitcase and a large carry-on. Back in the olden days (1995) I went to France and Italy for four weeks with only one carry-on suitcase, which was great. I will try www.bahn.de again to see if I can figure this out. Again, many thanks to you.

You're welcome, Kay. I'm sorry that you can no longer pack as light as you'd like, but I'm certainly glad that is not stopping you from returning to Europe. Enjoy your planning!

We took a train directly to Sarlat but there was no taxi or bus to get into the city itself. We asked a person with a car to pls drive us and they did. It was perhaps a 5-10 min drive. Once in this remarkable town...you may not want to leave.
If you can find R. Heredin, a superb artist, you will truly be a lucky one. We befriended him and have such memories because of that. His art is better than some Dutch masters...truly.
I think takfing taxies would be best. Less hassel than renting a car.
Tell him Mike and Bonnie say hello! (He won't remember us, this was 8 yrs ago!)
