Train from Paris to Fountainebleau

On July 18th I will be traveling to Paris, I will arrive at the CDG airport at 8:30am and will take the RER to Gare de Lyon station, there I will take the train to Fountainebleau. My question is: can I just buy a ticket for the next train at that time or do I need to buy the ticket in advance before I leave for France? There will be three adults in my group and would prefer to sit together if possible.

If you buy a ticket to get to Gare de Lyon on the RER, it will cost €9.50. If you buy a ticket to Fontainebleau-Avon at Gare de Lyon, it will cost €8.65. You can buy a single ticket at CDG that will get you all the way to Fontainebleau-Avon. The fare is €17.50. Stand in line only once and save a few eurocents.

Hi, You can just buy the tickets at Gare de Lyon on that day. The ride to Fontainebleau (Avon) is on a TER train. When you exit the station at Fontainebleau, the bus to the chateau is right in front. You get off in front of the Tourist Office., otherwise it's a ca. 40 min walk. Good that you're going to the chateau Fontainebleau. You'll see where Napoleon said farewell to the Guard, les grognards. Don't miss the gardens there, very impresive.

Yes, buy a ticket for Fontainbleau at the ticket office which is off to the left as you enter the Gare de Lyon from the front. There are signs. Ticket is good for any train that day. Instead of taking the RER, you might want to consider taking the "Les Cars" the airport bus run by Air France, which runs from each terminal at CDG and goes directly to Gare de Lyon. Very comfortable.
