Does a train go from the airport to Strasbourg or do I have to go into Paris?

Hi Elizabeth,
In reviewing the options in Rick's France book, it looks like you have to go to Gare de l'Est station in Paris to get to Strasbourg. It's about a 2.5 trip on the TGV.

Go here to look at train schedules http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en?ld=212.146&seqnr=2&ident=jw.021648146.1242755266&rt=1&rememberSortType=minDeparture&REQ0HafasScrollDir=1I took a quick look and all the schedules I saw have the train going from CDG to one of the Paris stations, then to Strasbourg.The time given by Sharon is the station to station time from the time the high speed train departs the Paris station; you'll have to add for the time to get from the airport to the Paris station, wait for the train, etc--to get total travel time.

There are two direct TGVs from CDG to Strasbourg. One departs at 07:46 and the other at 12:54. To see this on the bahn.de timetables, enter Aeroport Paris-Charles de Gaulle TGV as the departure point.
