I need to travel from Avila, Spain to Brussels on either Sunday, August 28 or Monday, August 29. Any suggestions on the best way to do this? I like trains and would enjoy a scenic route, but am open to flying if the price is right. Should I book something ahead of time? I will be in Spain for a week before traveling to Brussels.

Lori, if you do this trip by train you'll have to take the overnight train to Paris. To get it you will probably have to go to Madrid, Valladolid or Burgos. I'm just not sure if it travels through or stops in Avila. that leg alone is going to cost almost 200 euros, This train arrives at Paris Austerlitz you would then have to travel to Paris Nord to catch a train to Brussels. Alot of moving around in my opinion. The cheapest way to do the trip is fly from Madrid to Brussels on Ryan Air, you can get a great fair of less than 40 euros but you need to buy asap. I'd fly since the majority of the train travel is at night anyway.
