is 120 Euros a decent fare to spend on a train with 3 connections from Rothenburg ob del tauber to Paris......I'm thinking I should take it before trains sell out...?
I found that €120 fare on the Bahn website. That is the standard (maximum)2nd class fare for Rothenburg ob DER Tauber to Paris. I don't think you will find this fare selling out. I just found online, self-print tickets at that fare available for Monday (11 Jun).
The connection that leaves Rothenburg at 9:06 connects to a TGV in Stuttgart. This TGV link is new, and they have a promotional fare of €29 (that's Stuttgart to Paris). You can only get this fare for Stuttgart to Paris (not from Rothenburg to Paris), and they are limited in quantity and selling out fast. Buy it online as soon as you can commit. Tickets are "train specific" and non-refundable.
The TGV leaves Stuttgart at 12:55. There is a three train regional/IC connection leaving Rothenburg at 9:06 and arriving in Stuttgart at 11:53. That fare is €35. So the complete fare this way would be €64.
seems high to me
