train between paris and Amsterdam

My wife and I have the eurail pass and we are traveling from Paris to Amterdam. We just found out that we have to pay 240 euros for that ticket, any feedback??

That seems very expensive. Look at the Thalys website and see what the cost would be for purchasing tickets on the date you want to travel. Costs can be less than 40€/ticket in 2nd class if booked in advance.

When is trip? Tickets, as Dina says, are cheap when booked in advance.
My feedback is that rail passes are not a good deal anymore, bet a travel agent sold you on it huh?

For Thalys and Eurostar (and increasingly on TGVs), it is often the case stand-alone advance discount tickets are les s expensive than paying the reservation fees on Eurail. Eurail is a travel product that delivers less and less value in this age of high-seed travel.

With Thalys trains between Paris and Amsterdam passholders must buy passholder fare tickets, not simple seat reservations. The fares start at €39 for 2nd class and €62 for 1st class. Thalys limits the number of seats it allocates to passholders so it's best to book ASAP (up to 90 days allowed) at thalys.com. It's too late for you now, but the cheapest discount fare point-to-point ticket is only €35.
