Tours in Salzburg

Thanks for your help so far. I have more questions about the tours available. do you know if you HAVE to book them before you go or can you just get them when you arrive. there are a number of tour companies doing the same tour.Like Lakes and MT> tour. since we are there in Oct. is it likely we;ll get a tour since its not so busy. Thanks Diane

Diane, it would help to know exactly WHICH tours you're considering in Salzburg? Usually it's quite adequate to simply book the tours there, perhaps a day or so in advance. Cheers!

Diane, I did Bob's Special Tours Sound of Music tour. i booked it the day before I took the tour. It was a lot of fun. We were in a van and there were only 7 of us. They picked us up near the hotel. Pam

I booked any tours thru the front desk of our hotel and it worked out great. research the ones you want, you can ask the desk what they know about them if you want, but it was a breeze - we got picked up at the door and brought to the main bus for the Eagles Nest tour for instance- going thru the desk. You could even ask your hotel to book it for you before yu get there if you are concerned about space if you go at a busy time. (If I could go again I would try Bob's also myself..I have only heard good about them) As Rick mentions in his book, the hotels may get a small something for booking certain-if not all tours, but they never led me astray and made it quite easy.(especially if you stay within the city)
