I've been searching for tour companies in Gibraltar and can only find two, Parody Vacations and Blands. I would like to book day excursions into southern Spain and to Tangier for mid August but both companies tell me as of now, they don't have the minimum passengers to do the tours. Blands needs 10 persons, Parody needs only 6. What's the deal, is tourism that slow in Gibraltar??
August is so hot that most people avoid this area. Be prepared to roast.
I wonder if you're on a cruise ship? Most posters at this site are making a day trip to Gibraltar from touring Spain. That's what we did, so I can't help you. Personally, I would be careful about using a tour other than those from the ship. You're responsible for your return time if you go on your own.
I may be wrong but I think most tours are from places in Spain to Gibralter, not from Gib into Spain.
Weather wouldn't stop people from going on vacation. Besides, everywhere in Gibraltar is walking distance from the ocean. There are ocean breezes. Besides, tour buses have Air Cond. I was told by Parody tours that the tours were not fully booked because Spain's in a recession. But I still don't understand why Spain wouldn't want tourists bussed in to fuel their economy for that reason, or why else tours wouldn't want to go into Spain.
