We will be using Granada, Spain as a base for 4 days of "white hill" day tripping. Does anyone have some "must see towns" nearby? We have been to Lanjaron, but not any others that are within an 1 hour or so drive.
This should be easy.
Arcos de la Frontera is the must-see....although it's really worth spending the night up there - being there at night is really a wonderful experience and was one of the highlights of our trip to Iberia last year (and in a trip filled with many 5-star attractions, that's saying something).
Ronda is also worth a visit, although (IMHO) not nearly as magical as Arcos. Lots more tourist crowds there in Ronda took a bit of the shine off the place for us, but you've got to see that bridge.
After that, it's probably a tougher call between many 2nd tier towns.

Hi Donna - I've included Rick's summary of The "White" hilltown's. He is spot on as far as evaluating them. Have a look and enjoy them when you're there. And Donna - GO RED SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

David liked Arcos, we liked Rhonda. More to do in Rhonda and yes maybe a bit more touristy. If you are going in the summer months Arcos has very enclosed streets and will be hot. We were there in in mid May and it was 90 and so hot we had to stay in our air conditioned room for the afternoon and explore late in the day - Rhonda is more open.
