Tour of Normandy Beaches

We will be staying in Bayeux for 2 night and would like a good tour of The Normandy Beaches and other sites. We have contacted Dale Booth but they are unavailable.
Any suggestions?

Hello Deborah, When we went we did a 2 day Battlebus tour which we all thought was absolutely outstanding. The website has changed to www.ddayhistorian.com and they still offer tours. After perusing the website, it appears that they still offer the same tours - if you are looking for an in depth tour of the d day sites, one of their tours would probably work for you!

We got a lot of recommendations on this site last year when planning our trip to Normandy. There's a few companies that specialize in these kinds of tours, including the one mentioned above. We ended up going with http://www.normandy-sightseeing-tours.com. We were extremely satisfied with the service; our guide was very knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. Their website includes a calendar so you can check availability.

I did a two day tour with Overlord Tours - one day visiting British and Canadian sites, the 2nd day visiting American ones. It was great but a bit much. If I had to do it over again, I'd do the one-day, American only. (Not that I don't appreciate the British and Canadian efforts!)I also revisited the American cemetery on my own because I wanted more time to visit the outstanding and relatively new visitor center and to wander around the grounds and down to the beach. But you'd need your own car for that. We found they put so much stuff on the itinerary that you don't really get a chance to visit all of the well-done visitor centers - Point du Hoc, for example. The guide gives you a lot of information but the visitor centers have pictures, videos, testimonies from the soldiers, etc. It's a really profound experience doing the D Day beaches. Enjoy!
