Thank you Adynata! I've been to the Prado before and found it to be a bit overwhelming. We're going to Madrid in May and this article will be helpful.
This is a good article. Especially in the off-season when crowds are quite small, my tip for visiting is to go more than once in the evening between the hours of 18:00 and 20:00 Tues-Sun when there’s no entry fee. Two hours in a single visit is perfect IMO, but the Prado cannot possibly be fully appreciated and experienced with just one short visit. We were there in late November and visited the museum each evening. If you’re in Madrid for several days and looking for something to do in the early evening, this is a great budget way to see the top collection of paintings in Europe.
