Tips for challenged walker

My wife and I are spending some time in Germany. My wife's knee doesn't like long walks or up too steep of walkways.
We are in Fussen to see the Neuschwanstein castle with our grandaughter. We are staying in town. Also after that we will be in Rothenburg. Staying outside the wall at Hotel Hornburg. Can you drive close to any of the placesor is there other forms of transportation? Is the Hotel Hornburg close to the main areas of interest. Thanks for any advise.

Bob,

You should be fine seeing Neuschwanstein. You can park at the bottom of the hill near the ticket booth and take either a bus or carraige to the top. If you take the bus it is a short hike down to the castle.

Driving within the wall in Rothenburg is a difficult task, and I'm not sure they will allow you to park within the wall if your hotel is outside the wall. There is no public transportation within the wall. I don't know if it's too late to change your reservation to stay within the wall, but that would be my advice.
