Rick mentions the wisdom of buying an advance ticket on line for Schonbrunn that assigns an entry time but it appears that the combo ticket only requires use within one year...I don't see anything about a required entry time. Am I missing something? Thanks for any help you can provide.

I assume you are talking about the Sisi pass. We used those last fall. Those ones are not timed entry tickets - we just showed up and were let in.

We visited in December and we just walked up and bought a ticket from the machine. There were staged entries. Perhaps due to the season and that it was about mid-morning, we did not have to wait long. We did not buy the ticket that included the visit to the strudel bakery but the one that covered the great number of apartments.
