Ticks in Germany, Important info

http://www.toytowngermany.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=585&pid=1717890&st=140&#entry1717890

This is a posting about the tick situation in Munich and surrounding areas from people who live there.

Do make sure you wear long trousers while walking in the woods. Do check yourself or have someone check your back and hair. Do wear a hat if you are walking in the woods. I am pretty sure that most of Germany has this problem, and not just Bavaria. A few years ago, I went on a picnic, spreading a white tablecloth in the grass, in a sort of meadow. Within a few minutes, there were ticks crawling all over the place. We left in a hurry.

They fall from trees, are in bushes, and are in long grasses, just waiting for a bunny or deer or dog or cat or human to walk by.

There are good instructions on this same site about removing ticks, symptoms to recognize, etc. I don't want to cause panic, but do think it is important for people to be informed, as would not want anyone to get sick.
