My husband and I are attending the 9am mass at the Basilica's crypt and we were wondering if we still need to get tickets to enter. Their website suggest that we buy tickets in advance for general visit - does anyone know if a ticket is also required to enter the church for mass? We're thinking of buying tickets nonetheless but not sure what time we should schedule it. After mass or before the 9am mass? Appreciate your reply.

I am going to be in Barcelona this Sunday (the 14th) and my friend and I were looking to attend Mass as well. I am also curious to know this answer :)

I emailed the basilica directly and got this answer: You don't need a ticket to attend the mass but you need it to visit the Basilica. So after the mass you have to cue to buy the tickets at the ticket office and go in, or you can try to book the tickets in your phone through www.servicaixa.com.
